Fostering Healthy Relationships

Chef Alana Peckham features as a guest every month on the new Health & Wellness TV Series, being featured on JoyTV and The One stations across Canada. The TV series showcases some of Canada’s top leaders in the health and wellness industry! Alligga sponsors the episodes where you can watch Chef Peckham cook up delicious, healthy dishes and educate consumers on the many health benefits of flaxseed oil. Watch the episodes online here.

Alligga has been a proud sponsor of the Celebrity Cooking Stage at the Wellness Show since 2014. The next show will take place from February 12-14, 2016 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Alligga provides the cooking oil for all the chefs on stage and you can watch live cooking demonstrations showcasing Alligga Flaxseed Cooking Oil! Check out the Alligga booth near the Celebrity Cooking Stage!

The radio talk show makes a difference in the way people view their own health. Each week they present natural health information that’s easy to understand. Alligga’s corporate chef, dietitians and sales director have joined the show twice this year. If you missed it, you can listen to both airings online at: First Airing or Second Airing.

Alligga has collaborated and sponsored two events with Libra Nutrition, a Canadian based company that provides professional nutrition consultations within British Columbia. The latest event, Healthy Hippo Munchies Workshop takes place on August 1, where you can learn to make healthy munchies with Chef Alana Peckham. You can sign up online here.

Alligga was one of the main sponsors at the Time to Shine Gala, which raised almost $1.4 million for CT scanners and related infrastructure at VGH and UBC Hospital. VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation has partnered with donors to provide the funds essential to ensure that their hospitals and health care teams can deliver BC’s best, most specialized care for adults.

Project CHEF: Cook Healthy Edible Food is an experiential, curriculum-based school program aimed at children in kindergarten to grade seven that teaches students about healthy food. Alligga supports the program and this year, Chef Alana Peckham was a guest judge for their inaugural Curry Cup Competition. The teams had 1 hour to prep and cook their curry recipe as well as plate it for presentation and judging. You can read more about Chef Peckham’s experience here.

Woman2Warrior is a non-timed run covering about 5km of trails, track, and grass. The event is operated by the B.C. Lions Society for Children with Disabilities to raise funds to benefit the Society’s Easter Seals Camping Program for children with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Alligga was fortunate to be part of the event which took place in May, where we gave away Alligga Flaxseed Oil products and baked goods.
